Droutinelife : Reema Lagoo Death – Veteran Bollywood Actress Reema Lagoo passed away at the age of 59.  She was suffering from cardiac arrest. After the actress complained of chest pain on Wednesday night, she was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri, Mumbai.  She breathed her last Breathe there.

Reema Lagoo’s son-in-law Vinay Waikul  said, “She was absolutely fine but around 1 am she complained to us of chest pain so we took her to the hospital. However, around 3:15 am she passed away due to a cardiac arrest.”

The senior actress started her career in Hindi and Marathi films in the late 1970s and early 80s. She has worked in film, TV and on stage.  She was best known for playing the on-screen mother to protagonists in hit films.

Reema Lagoo also did notable work in television in popular shows like ‘Tu Tu Main Main’ and ‘Shriman Shrimati’.

Reema Lagoo was married to Marathi Actor Vivek Lagoo. She took the name Reema Lagoo after her marriage.  Her Real Name was Nayan Bhadbhade. The couple separated a few years later. They have a daughter, Mrunmayee, who is also a stage and film actress, and a theatre director.

Reema Lagoo Funeral

Actress Reema Lagoo’s last rites were held in Mumbai’s Oshiwara crematorium on Thursday afternoon.

Her daughter Mrunmayee conducted the last rites.

Her funeral was attended by several former colleagues, some of whom also posted messages for her on Twitter. Actor Aamir Khan visited Lagoo’s family at home with his wife Kiran Rao, and was later photographed at the funeral.

Other actors at the funeral included Tanvi Azmi, Sonali Kulkarni, Kiran Kumar and Raza Murad, who worked with Reema Lagoo in several films, including Henna and Aa Gale Lag Ja.

Reema Lagoo was best-known as a screen mother – she played Salman Khan’s mother in films such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Saath Saath Hain, Shah Rukh Khan‘s in Yes Boss and Kal Ho Na Ho, Madhuri Dixit‘s in Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Sanjay Dutt‘s in Vaastav, and Govinda’s mother in Deewana Mastana. She was also an acclaimed theatre artist.
